Yes, camera light could be iritating at times. Next time try to hold your selfie stick a little bit higher/lower or far left/right and it should be just fine. Try to experiment with camera or get mobile with led illumination/backlight to enhance your night/dark shooting. And yes, no skirt next time. Come to my profile and see it for yourself
